Archery is the art of practice or it is the skill of propelling arrows with the use of a bow.Archary has historically been used for combat and haunting,between 60 to 70 million Indians are tribals. in the recent era,however ,its main use is that of a recreational activity one who practices archery is well known as an “Archer” or “Bow man or bow men”,and one who is an expert of or fond of Archery can be referred to as “toxophilite”.
ORIGIN :-
Archery was highly developed in Asia and in the Islamic world.In east Asia and ancient Korean civilization,such as the Baekje, Shilla and Goguryoe were well known for their regiments of exceptionally skill Archers.At crecy,France,in the year 1346,the English long bow proved its worth for the first time in continental warfare. Arrows and bows have been prevent in Egyptian culture.
DON’T FORGET THEM:-If a tribal enters the forests with his bow& arrow,it is an offence.if his cattle graze in the forest,it is an offence.Having made it impossible for them to observe the law,the state then punishes them for breaking it.they were the first to die for freedom,the last to benefit from it. Outside the north-east,many tribes face hostile conditions ranging from deprivation to disintegration, a relentless assult on their land,resources and civilization.Yet in their dignified,non-acquisitive struggle for survival,there are rich ideas from what Pandit Nehru called their “better corporate life than the caste-ridden society we suffer from”.This is the ‘intro’ to ‘tribes’in turmoil’which is the theme of the Indipendence special brought out by the doughty tabloid,Blitz.
ARCHERY EDUCATION :-
NASP(National archery in school program)this programs is similar to education programs,firstly it is discovered in US schools but on this age this competition is spread to other country. These programs are commonly referred to as junior Olympic Archery developments programs,or simply JOAD.There are over 250 JOAD clubs recognized by the National Archery Association.

Archery it’s a very expensive game,but the game is not so popular in India. Krishna Das(live in north Kolkata) the first Indian woman archer who got the Arjuna award in the year of 1983.But now a days (2010) in Delhi common wealth games Dola banerjee got the gold medal in Archery.It became the famous game in India,basically in west Bengal.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW OF “ DOLA BANERJEE ”
This interview is belong for the famous Indian woman Archer Dola Banerjee. She is the first woman who, won most of the gold medal on the game Archer.she is shared some of her favourite things and some of her experiences with us.
Dola Banerjee began playing the game of archery at quite an early age, and joined the Baranagar Archery Club at the age of nine years. Dola Banerjee created a history of sorts in the year of 2005.She won the Gold Medal at European Grand Prix Archery tournament and the Golden Arrow Grand Prix Archery tournament, Antalya, Turkey in the year of 2005. She is also the cousin sister of the singers Sagarika and Shaan.
Award and Achievements :-
1.She is the first female Archer who have been honourd by Arjuna award.
2.Dola Banerjee was honourd with the Arjuna Award in 2005.
According to Dola Banerjee the Archery is one of the most expensive game and she added that if woman have the interests in Archery then just go for it.Her favourite food is any kind of Bengali food coz max of the time she is being out of India.Her favourite singer is Kishor kumar,shaan,R ahat fateh ali khan and many of them.She is also added that in spare time she is also wanted to watch television and if possible then go for any kind of movie but according to her in last two month she is not wathching any kind of movie.This famous woman Archer is told us that till she don’t have any plan for her marriage.
When she gave the interview she is on the way of Asian games.She is looking forward for the Asian games.Our wishes is always with her and for her bright future.
